Aaron Rodgers gets unexpected award from Jets teammates
Aaron Rodgers played just four snaps for the New York Jets this season, but he still made a big enough impact that his teammates saw fit to give him a season-ending award.
Rodgers was voted the Jets’ most inspirational player by his peers in season-ending awards, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Presumably, Rodgers’ teammates were quite impressed with his efforts to come back from an Achilles tear before the end of the season.
Aaron Rodgers played only four snaps, but he came away with a team award — most inspirational player (aka the Dennis Byrd Award). Voted by the players. #Jets

Obviously, Rodgers is held in high regard by his teammates. He was a steady locker room presence even while injured, and vocally stuck up for teammates when called upon. Of course, one could argue that a player who took just four snaps being the most inspirational does not speak well of the Jets’ internal dynamics.
Jets players certainly are not voting based on Rodgers’ public comments about other matters, which have him in hot water right now.
