Allen Robinson was open for lateral on Bears’ last play but Jesper Horsted missed him

Allen Robinson lateral

The Chicago Bears made a heck of an effort to try tying their game with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday on a last-second play, but one mistake undid it all.

Chicago had a 3rd-and-1 from the Green Bay 36 with one second left down 21-13. They set up a pass play that would devolve into multiple laterals, and the team actually had the ball inside the 15 with an open shot at the end zone. The problem is Jesper Horsted didn’t realize Allen Robinson was open for a lateral down the sideline and essentially got tackled before coughing up the ball, which was recovered by Green Bay.

Bears fans are probably throwing things over how close they came to scoring a touchdown on that play. Of course, they probably realize that the Bears would have been stopped on the 2-point conversion attempt anyway, so all the Bears did was prevent the fans from even more heartbreak.
