Report: Cowboys, DeMarcus Lawrence moving toward long-term deal
There appears to have been a thaw between DeMarcus Lawrence and the Dallas Cowboys.
Multiple reports indicated Friday that the Cowboys and their star pass rusher were not only talking again, but were actually moving close to an agreement on a long-term contract. The most notable of those reports comes from Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo would not go that far, but did report that the two sides were talking again and “cautiously optimistic” about coming to terms.

This is quite the change considering as recently as a week ago, the two sides weren’t even in the same neighborhood. Lawrence had been franchise tagged, much to his chagrin, but negotiations are continuing and there may, in fact, be a breakthrough here.
