Geno Smith will reportedly start for Jets in Week 7

Geno-Smith

The New York Jets have apparently seen enough of Ryan Fitzpatrick for the time being, as Geno Smith is expected to be named the starting quarterback for Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the news:

Fitzpatrick has thrown an NFL-worst 11 interceptions through six games this season. Jets head coach Todd Bowles indicated after Monday night’s blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals that Fitzpatrick would keep his job, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

After Fitzpatrick was benched in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game, Smith came in and threw an interception of his own. Before the game, the former West Virginia star made some remarks that Bowles was clearly not happy about. Despite that, Smith is going to get a chance to win the job for the remainder of the year.
