Rashaad Penny has ‘significant’ knee injury

Rashaad Penny

The Seattle Seahawks not only lost badly to their NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, but they also lost Rashaad Penny to an injury.

The second-year running back exited Sunday night’s game after his first touch. He caught a screen pass and took it 16 yards before injuring his left knee while being tackled. He did not return.

After the game, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Penny had an ACL sprain and that the injury was “significant.”

The injury comes at a bad time for Seattle. Penny had been coming on lately, with two touchdowns against Minnesota in Week 13 and 129 rushing yards and a score the week before against Philadelphia.

Chris Carson carried the ball 15 times in the loss and will likely see the bulk of the carries moving forward. C.J. Prosise also had a carry and rushed for two yards.
