Michael Phelps gives finger wag after winning 200m fly

Michael Phelps finger wag

Michael Phelps hauled in his 20th Olympic gold medal when he won the 200m butterfly on Tuesday night at the Summer Games in Rio. Winning the medal was nice, but it was Phelps’ celebration that was legendary.

Phelps, who posted a time of 1:53:36, delivered the finger wag that made Dikembe Mutombo famous after winning the race:

Why was Phelps especially pleased with the win? In the semifinals a night earlier, Phelps finished second. But more importantly, prior to the race he had a moment with rival Chad le Clos that went viral after Phelps put on an amazing gameface.
