Kevin Pillar climbs wall to rob Tim Beckham of home run (Video)
On Tuesday, Nolan Arenado presented a candidate for Major League Baseball’s catch of the season by making a spectacular grab down the third base line (watch it here). The following day, Kevin Pillar did his best to one up him.
In the top of the seventh inning of Toronto’s game against Tampa Bay, Rays second baseman Tim Beckham hit a drive to left field that looked destined to sail over the wall for a home run. Blue Jays left fielder Kevin Pillar had other ideas. Pillar raced towards the wall and planted his right foot into it, elevating himself high enough to reach up and pull the ball back into the yard.
Taking a home run is always an impressive feat. However, the height of the outfield walls at Rogers Centre can make them seem even more impressive. Well done, indeed, by Pillar.
