Twins credit Nicolas Cage for 3B Escobar’s hot streak
The Minensota Twins are crediting The Wicker Man himself for third baseman Eduardo Escobar’s recent hot streak.
During a recent trip to Puerto Rico for a series against the Cleveland Indians, Escobar ran into actor Nicolas Cage in San Juan and got a picture with him.

Coincidentally or not, Escobar has been on an absolute tear at the plate since the photo was taken. On Monday, the Twins implied on Twitter that Cage was the reason behind Escobar’s surge and pointed to his stats since the meeting.

The Twins even gave Cage a shoutout in their game notes that day, noting that Escobar’s favorite movies of his were “The Rock” and “Face/Off.”

Escobar kept it going during a game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday too, picking up a double and a run scored in the 7-4 loss. Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time that the baseball world has shown love to Cage either.
