Yasiel Puig buying a helicopter to get to Dodger Stadium on time
Yasiel Puig has had some problems with punctuality during his MLB career, and the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder is investing some serious cash to make sure that doesn’t happen in the future.
The dude is buying a helicopter.
Alex Vega, Puig’s friend and personal vehicle customizer, told TMZ this week that Puig is planning to buy his own helicopter. Puig has been hinting at it on social media recently.
“You’ve seen him posting all around. It ain’t just for fun,” Vega said. “He’s buying one.”
Here are a couple of the posts Vega was referencing:
Vega said he is looking to “come up with something that nobody’s done before” and maybe even put some wheels on the helicopter when Puig buys it. In other words, we could be talking about a hybrid chopper/car.
Puig was benched for the start of a game in 2013 after showing up late to the ballpark, and he later made light of it with this photo. He did the same thing the following season and was benched again. Remember, this is a guy who reportedly angers his teammates with his lack of focus.
We all know the traffic is horrendous in L.A., but there are plenty of people — professional athletes included — who figure out how to get to work on time. It shouldn’t take a helicopter.
