Yasiel Puig shares funny ‘I will not be a distraction’ cartoon
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has been criticized a ton over the past year, and he obviously has a great sense of humor about it.
On Thursday, Puig shared part of an old FOX Sports cartoon on his Instagram page. You can see the original illustration here. The cropped version that Puig passed along features him writing “I will not be a distraction” over and over on a chalk board.
“I will not be a distraction,” Puig wrote on Instagram. “#lmao #iwillnotbeadistraction.”
As Deadspin noted, Puig’s not the only one in the illustration who is being picked on. It also shows Alex Rodriguez wearing a disguise, Ryan Bruan making a “scout’s honor” hand gesture and Clayton Kershaw sitting on a pile of money.
Puig, 24, is one of the most exciting young players in the game. The problem with him has been that he reportedly angers his teammates by loafing and puts the Dodgers in a tough position when he does stuff like this. Maybe poking fun at himself is Puig’s way of acknowledging he needs to grow up.
