Danny Green received some negative attention on Friday when pictures emerged of him hanging at a club with some Miami Heat players after losing Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
The San Antonio Spurs shooting guard, whose 1-for-12 shooting performance in Game 7 marred his record-setting series, learned that he was being criticized for hanging with the Heat. While giving thanks to Spurs fans over Twitter, Green decided to address the pictures:
Got give credit to Miami…but don't think for one sec I was out celebrating with them…jus happened to be at the same place, wrong time

Even if Green was not partying with the Heat but just happened to be at the same place as them at the same time, this is still a bad look for him. Most people will wonder what he was doing going out clubbing after losing the biggest game of his career. That was the same type of criticism Rob Gronkowski faced following the Patriots’ Super Bowl loss.
While my instinct is to wonder how someone would be in the mood to party after losing such a big game, it’s important to understand that people deal with difficult life events in different ways. If that’s the way Green handles it, then I won’t question him. It’s just not my style.
