Jeff Withey was blasted on social media by his girlfriend Kennedy Summers, who accused him of cheating, but the Utah Jazz center has defended himself.
Summers, the 2014 Playmate of the Year, apparently got a hold of Withey’s social media passwords and posted on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter about her cheating suspicions.
Summers posted a photo on Instagram of two movie tickets she says Withey bought for a theater in Santa Barbara, Calif. on Wednesday night. The caption to the photo was written in the first person as if Jeff wrote it, though it was seemingly written by Summers. The caption says Withey told Summers he was going to the movies alone, but his girlfriend found a receipt showing two tickets were purchased.

Summers then cross-posted the Instagram post to Withey’s Facebook profile. She also posted her cheating suspicions to her Twitter account. All three postings have since been deleted.
Within a few hours, though, Withey responded on Instagram. He posted a photo of the movie tickets and explained that he was not cheating on his girlfriend, but that he generously bought the ticket for a person in front of him.
“Unfortunately a private matter was made public,” Withey wrote on his caption. “I am not a cheater, nor would I ever cheat. Went to the movies by myself and picked up the tickets of the person in front of me. Not even my credit card number on the stub. That is all that I will say about the matter and I appreciate my friends, family and followers that know my character standing behind me and never questioning me for a moment.”
Ah, the old “I bought a ticket for the person in front of me” line. Yes, totally believable. Because there are always lines at the Santa Barbara 5 on State Street on Wednesday nights. Well, that certainly was a generous deed by Withey, and it’s nice the two seem to have sorted things out.
