It sounds like Jimmermania is taking a new country by storm.
Jimmer Fredette, now playing for the Chinese Basketball Association’s Shanghai Sharks, put up 73 points on Sunday – on 49 field goal attempts – in his team’s 135-132 double overtime defeat to Zhejiang.
Jimmer had 73 pts on 25/49 shooting (13/13 FTs), 4 reb, 3 ast, and 3 stl in a 135-132 2OT loss to Zhejiang. He was 10/18 from three.

Jimmer may not have cut it in the NBA – for some reasons of his own doing, apparently – but that jumpshot can certainly still play against lesser competition, and that’s exactly what he seems to be doing in China. Good for him, and with a few more performances like that, he’ll be on his way to becoming an icon over there.
