Markieff Morris throws towel at Jeff Hornacek during loss

Markieff Morris

Markieff Morris has been pouting this season in Phoenix and took things too far by disrespecting his head coach on Wednesday night.

The Suns lost to the Denver Nuggets 104-96 at home, with Morris scoring just six points on 2-of-8 shooting in 12 minutes. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports that Morris threw a towel at Jeff Hornacek as the Nuggets were starting to pull away in the fourth quarter. Coro says Hornacek “fired back in words and tossed the towel aside.”

Morris did not re-enter the game after the towel throwing incident.

Morris’ unhappiness with the Suns goes back to the summer when the team traded his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons. Reports began to circulate that Markieff wanted out, and then he went on Twitter and explicitly stated his plans not to be in Phoenix. He was eventually fined by the league for his public trade demand.

The lack of respect for the Morris twins towards Hornacek is evident; last season Marcus exploded on the coach during a game (watch here).

If this is Markieff’s way of trying to force the Suns to trade him, it might finally work.
