Marreese Speights reportedly had gun pulled on him
No one would blame Golden State Warriors center Marreese Speights if he was having trouble focusing on basketball this week.
Early Monday morning, Speights reportedly had a gun pulled out him outside of a nightclub in San Francisco. Law enforcement sources told KTVU that Speights was at the Cellar Night Club when a convicted felon pulled a gun on him and tried to rob him in the parking lot.
A group of gang members reportedly tried to steal Speights’ gold chains, but the 27-year-old was able to get away. He was unharmed, and the alleged gunman — identified as 28-year-old Michael Lamont Jackson of San Francisco — was later arrested.
Whether by coincidence or not, Speights had one of his worst games of the season later that night. He scored just six points and went 1-for-8 from the field in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. We’re glad to hear he escaped the incident without injury.
