Twitter reacts to 76ers pulling rug out from under Mikal Bridges with trade

Mikal Bridges’ stint as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers did not last long.

The 76ers originally drafted Bridges with the No. 10 overall pick, which was one of the coolest stories of the draft; Bridges’ mother works in human resources for the Sixers and would have had her son on the team.

Instead, Philly ended up trading Bridges to the Phoenix Suns for the No. 16 pick and a future first-round pick. Philly gets Zhaire Smith and a 2021 first-round pick from Miami, while the Suns get Bridges.

The Twitter reactions to the feel-good story coming to an abrupt ending were pretty funny. Take a look:

Not only does Philly get Smith and a future first-round pick, but they also get to save a little salary cap space, which could help their pursuit of free agents this summer.
