Canelo Alvarez willing to fight Miguel Cotto, GGG
Canelo Alvarez is the exact type of fighter fans love to support. He can be a physical brawler who delivers knockouts, and he is not afraid to fight anyone.
After his win Saturday over James Kirkland in Houston, Alvarez was asked by HBO’s Max Kellerman whether he would be willing to fight Miguel Cotto.
“I’m ready for any rival; I don’t run away from anyone. I’m ready for anyone,” Alvarez said in Spanish.
Cotto first has to beat Daniel Geale in June before facing Alvarez. Another potential fight would be one against Gennady Golovkin aka GGG. Alvarez is willing to fight Golovkin as well.
“Yes, why not? He’s a great champion, he’s a warrior — that’s the type of fighter that I want to fight. In the future, yes (I am willing to fight Golovkin).”
Alvarez has already shown throughout his career that he is willing to fight anyone, so his answers should not surprise us. Man, would it be great to see him fight GGG.
