Canelo Alvarez, in case you didn’t know, has a HUGE fan base and is very popular with the ladies. The Mexican fighter is often linked to some of the most well-known women in the country. Many articles published lately have said that his girlfriend Marisol Gonzalez, but those articles are incorrect; Canelo and Gonzalez are no longer together. More recently, reports out of Mexico have said that Alvarez is dating actress Cynthia Rodriguez.
Canelo and Gonzalez were first linked by Mexican outlet TV Notas in June. TV Notas said that Canelo is usually chased by women, but in this case it was him who initiated. Alvarez is only 22, while Rodriguez is 29, so he was going after an older woman.
Last month, TV Notas reported that both Canelo and Rodriguez denied the relationship. Alvarez denied it with a funny quote.
“Este romance es tan secreto que ni yo mismo lo sé, sólo he visto 2 veces en mi vida a Cynthia y eso por cuestiones de trabajo, pero jamás he salido con ella como pareja”.
Alvarez essentially said that the relationship was such a secret, even he didn’t know about it.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, denied the report via her Twitter account.
“Estoy tranquila, soltera y por ahora dedicándome al 100 % a mis proyectos.”
Rodriguez said she was happy and dedicated to her work.
Despite the denials, TV Notas says Rodriguez has Canelo’s heart and that he is in love with her. They even say he bought her gifts, sent flowers and took her to an exclusive place for dinner on her birthday.
Alvarez and ex-girlfriend Gonzalez, who is a TV personality and actress, broke up last year. The two were engaged in 2010. Like Rodriguez, Gonzalez was older than Alvarez. He was 19 and she was 27 at the time of their engagement.
