JT Barrett reportedly involved in domestic dispute
Ohio State quarterback JT Barrett was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend early Tuesday morning.
According to a police report obtained by WSYX in Ohio, Barrett called Columbus Police during an argument with his girlfriend, Alexandria Barrett-Clark. Barrett reportedly told police that Barrett-Clark refused to leave his apartment and “ran at him and pushed him” after he asked her to do so.
The police report states that Barrett admitted to pushing Barrett-Clark in self-defense, causing her to fall onto a bed. Barrett-Clark claims she told Barrett she would leave in the morning and that he “choked her on the bed” by using his forearm to apply pressure to her neck and then take her phone away.
Barrett and Barrett-Clark both ended up calling the police separately. Police said neither person had visible injuries and both refused medical treatment, so no arrests were made.
An Ohio State spokesman said the school is still in the process of gathering information about the incident. Barrett will not be available for the College Football Playoff after he suffered a serious ankle injury against Michigan.
