Roddy White defends Joe Paterno, Penn State with incredibly ignorant tweets

For those of you who didn’t already think someone needs to ban Roddy White from Twitter, this should officially seal the deal. On Thursday, Freeh’s firm produced a 267-page report from their eight-month investigation into the Penn State scandal. The investigation revealed that Joe Paterno and other Penn State officials covered up child abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky in order to protect the image of the football program.

Freeh said in a news conference that Paterno “was an integral part of this active decision to conceal” and deserved to be fired. White apparently disagrees and decided to send this incredibly insensitive string of tweets to share his thoughts with the public.

Simply put, Roddy agrees with JoePa’s decision to continuously hide the fact that children were being sexually abused because it would have damaged the program. Not only that, but he would allow his kid to play football at Penn State because Sandusky was not raping actual football players. Somebody take this man’s smartphone away, please. Naturally, the internet began buzzing about how stupid he is and White tried to backtrack.

What is there to twist? His message was clear: Despite an investigation revealing that Paterno covered for a child rapist, White does not feel that he is to blame. We’ve seen Roddy write some incredibly dumb things on Twitter before, but these comments easily blow those ones out of the water. Truly amazing.

The problem is you guys forget why White is famous.  It’s not for his brain, it’s because he runs well and catches the little brown ball.  That is all.  Putting value in what he says because he is a high profile athlete is a dumber thing to say than what he did.

First off,the report concluded what  Freeh wanted it to conclude from the beginning,It never revealed anything.Second Roddy White really does need to stay away from twitter.

Children come first and deserve our protection !!! Penn State did neither. I think the football program should be disbanded and the money desginated for the program divided amongst Sandusky’s victims. It will not erase the memories but should pay for the therapy !

What all you fools fail to realize is this. If I run a department in a organization. And i go to a board and say look this person is stealing money. If the board doesnt do anything with my findings. At that point you can dotwo things. You can try and do it again or quit. Football was that mans life he changed literally hundreds to thousands of lives. He wasn’t going to quit but if you did the research he didnt cover it up either. He made 3 inqueries and assumed it was handled. It plainly wasnt what was he supposed to do at that point play officer? That’s not his job to do that. So you ignorant witch hunting fools go get some facts.

Also if you want to blame someone blame the college. It’s not the FOOTBALL read that again FOOTBALL head coaches job to fire or investigate. That solely falls on the faculty the dean and administration. All that is going on here is they letting a old man take the fall for the cover up. The person who wrote this knows that and just wants shock value. So someone read his article even if its not biased or true. Things like this is why people don’t like the news. They never tell the truth or warp it to fit a ratings sweep.

Why would he let his son go to Penn St. It’s pretty clear what kind of education he will receive. They must not offer any English/grammar courses to the football players!  When did it become a law against  “rappin” a football player?

  • http://www.facebook.com/tom.fitzgerald.94617 Tom Fitzgerald

Joepa certainly did change lives, he allowed players to get a degree without an education! Way to go Joe!!!!

Joe Paterno is part of the faculty Travis.

I understand what Mr. White is known for, but how did he stay on the team? What was his GPA? I’m in college now and we have to write 2 or 3 papers a week and grammar is about 40% of our grade. I wonder who  graded Roddy’s papers?

Right on! And not only keep him from insulting our “Higher Instutions of Ed.”, but our higher INSTITUTIONS of education, as well! :-)

  • http://www.facebook.com/rob.byrd.58 Rob Byrd

I hear what you are saying, Tom, but Roddy White didn’t go to Penn State, he went to UAB. As far as Penn State academics are concerned, they have ranked in the top 50 Universities out of the top 700 in the WORLD for each of the past 30 years. And Paterno had a program where he believed that football players could excell in the classroom just as much as on the field, calling it, his “grand experiment”.  And they proved that it could, indeed, be done. They actually were the best in the country at it in 2011, finishing 1st, out of football playing schools, with Stanford at 4th, but who is normally the top school annually.  Business recruiters have said that over the past 25 years, PSU graduates are the “best” prepared and most ready to succeed in the workplace, of any University out there. Shocked this Jayhawk, as I am sure it did for the MIT’s, Duke’s, Stanford’s, and Ivy League schools of the world! :-) U.S. News and World Report, Times Higher Education, and The Wall Street Journal, each had stories that said the same thing, but none made the distinction as to whether that only included athletes, but regardless, I have to give PSU credit for providing a quality education to ALL of their students. Personally, Joe Pa should have taken Scumdusky hunting, and mistaken him for a moose!

Excuse me for the spelling error. I do own my mistakes and appreciate your keen obserservation.

  • blake54

Dear Mr. Byrd, Allow me to question the choice of words (out of football playing schools) Infact, the entire sentence structure is poor.
