Brandon Browner goes off on reporter after loss
Brandon Browner went off on a reporter after the New Orleans Saints lost to the Tennessee Titans in overtime on Sunday 34-28.
One of the big plays came late in the first quarter when the Saints handed the Titans a gift touchdown on a deflected ball that Delanie Walker turned into a 61-yard touchdown to make it 14-10 New Orleans (video here). After the game, WWL’s Lyons Yellins spent some time asking Jairus Byrd about the play, and Browner overheard it.
As Yellins explained, Browner didn’t like Yellins focusing on that one pay and went off on him. Other reporters in the locker room described the scene.
Brandon Browner, infuriated by an overheard @LyonsYellin question, has to be restrained by teammates and PR staff in Saints locker room.

Browner just went nuts on a reporter in the locker room, screaming about how the game went to OT and they wanted to ask about one play

Browner tweeted after the game about the incident and expressed his frustration for the media focusing on the one bad play.
They got a job to make a story, the game went into OT. That's your story right there. One play don't make a game. Next question

He also responded to a tweet from Yellin about the incident and said there was no “run in.”
@LyonsYellin there was no run in, I said what I said.

Browner, who entered the game with a league-high 15 penalties in eight games, was called for defensive holding late in the fourth quarter on a third down play that enabled the Titans to extend a drive. When you combine his penalty with the team’s loss at home to a Tennessee team that entered with just one win, it’s easy to see why he was frustrated.
