Eric Berry reportedly unlikely to sign long-term deal with Chiefs
Chiefs safety Eric Berry won’t be getting a long-term extension before July 15, according to a report.
Berry, who was the subject of the Chiefs’ franchise tag, will reportedly have to play 2017 on a $10.81 million tender.
Absent a significant shift in the next two days, I’m told the #Chiefs and Eric Berry are unlikely to come to terms on a long-term deal.

It doesn’t sound like either side has made this acrimonious, but the Chiefs just aren’t offering the money Berry wants. The two sides were reportedly making progress earlier in the offseason, but at some point those talks appear to have stalled and Berry will be on a one-year deal next season, much like another star in the league.
