Jay Gruden did not like media calling him ‘fat ass’ (Video)

Jay Gruden does not appreciate you picking on him over his weight.

The Washington Redskins coach was asked at a media session on Thursday whether the criticism from the press bothers him. He admitted that he does read and listen to some of what is written about the team.

“I listen to it a little bit,” Gruden admitted. “I read some articles and listen. I have to kind of be up-to-date so when I [talk with the media] I’m aware of what’s going on.

“I really dislike the guy that called me a ‘fat ass.’ That really ticked me off. I don’t mind you critiquing my coaching style, but don’t make fun of my weight. That’s unfair. I’m only 225!”

Gruden also went on to say that taking criticism is part of the job and that all coaches, no matter how good they are, are criticized when they lose. The problem is he doesn’t want to be criticized about his weight.

If that’s how sensitive Gruden is to comments about his weight, then I don’t even want to know what he’d say in response to this report.
