A lake house in Texas that is owned by Johnny Manziel’s grandfather was destroyed by a fire early Wednesday morning, and investigators suspect there may have been foul play.
Fortunately, there was no one inside the Lake Taylor home at the time it burned down. The house, which belongs to Paul Manziel, was too engulfed in flames by the time emergency crews arrived.
“Everything Paul loved and cherished was in that home. He loved his house,” Paul Manziel’s girlfriend Beverly Green told Dana Hughey of KYTX. “Thank you to friends and family for all of your prayers. We are just blessed no one was in the house and everyone is safe.”

Smith County Fire Marshal Jay Brooks said the fire is “suspicious in nature” and is being looked at by arson investigators and canines.
This is the second time in less than a year that a house with connections to an NFL player has burned to the ground. We’re glad to hear no one was injured.
