Watch: Josh Rosen clearly has chip on his shoulder entering draft

Josh Rosen

Whoever drafts Josh Rosen will be getting a quarterback who clearly has a chip on his shoulder.

Rosen made the rounds on Tuesday conducting several media interviews as he promoted Old Spice. During an interview with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, Rosen seemed to snap. Rosen was asked about being projected to go anywhere from No. 3 to No. 12 overall by the network’s analysts and was asked about going No. 1. He said he doesn’t care if he goes No. 1 and explained why.

Rosen cited many players to whom he was compared coming out of high school — ones ranked ahead of him, such as Blake Barnett and Ricky Town — and pointed out how little they have done compared to him. That’s why he’s banking on himself to continue to be the last man standing.

Right now Rosen seems to be ranked below many QBs in his draft class. Some have Josh Allen, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield ahead of him, if not all three (you can see where we have him ranked). He thinks he will stack up quite well against them down the road. Based on his attitude, we wouldn’t bet against him. If all this motivates him to work even harder as a pro, the NFL team that drafts him will be grateful.
