The Miami Dolphins did something on Tuesday that is practically unheard of in the NFL when they cut a player in the middle of practice.
On Tuesday, former Dolphins defensive lineman Leon Orr was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. According to a report from Patrick Riley of the Naples Daily News, officers stopped Orr after believing his windows were illegally tinted and “could immediately smell the odor of the marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.” He was found to be in possession of three glass vials containing what appeared to be marijuana wax and another plastic container that was labeled “kush syrup.” The substances came back positive for marijuana. Orr also had a gun in the car, which was entered into evidence.
Apparently the Dolphins did not hear about the incident until during practice on Wednesday. When the arrest was brought to the team’s attention, head coach Adam Gase cut Orr on the spot.

The Dolphins found out about Leon Orr's arrest during practice and promptly cut him, Adam Gase just said.

Talk about sending a message.
Orr, an undrafted free agent out of Florida, was promoted from the practice squad earlier this season. He appeared in five games for the Dolphins.
