Mitch Unrein gives Peyton Manning crap about his chicken parm

Peyton-Manning-chicken-parm

Peyton Manning has been around long enough to know that it was only a matter of time before he heard it from his teammates about his chicken parm tasting so good.

When Broncos defensive tackle Mitch Unrein noticed that Manning was eating chicken parm for lunch earlier this week, he couldn’t resist taking a shot at the future Hall of Famer.

Unrein shared the hilarious story with Arnie Stapleton of The Associated Press.

We had some chicken parmesan in the lunch room the other day and he was loading it up and I said, ‘Hey, what is that?'” Denver Broncos teammate Mitch Unrein recounted Wednesday.

“Oh, it’s chicken ‘parm,'” Manning replied.

“I was like, ‘Oh, does it taste so good?” Unrein cracked.

As expected, Manning was a good sport about it.

“It was a layup,” Peyton said. “I just served it right up to him.”

If you don’t get the reference, you probably haven’t watched TV in over a month. The Nationwide Insurance commercial that features Manning narrating his life to the company’s jingle seems like it comes on every 10 minutes.

Manning said he hates watching the commercial.

“I change the channel immediately,” he said. “And if other teammates are in the room, I run out of the room. I don’t even want to hear the abuse coming my way. I don’t watch a ton of TV, so I don’t see a lot of it. But that’s what I do, I change the channel. Nobody should be caught watching themselves on a commercial.”

If you thought only rookies got hazed in the NFL, you were wrong. Quarterbacks who have rewritten the record books can find themselves in the crosshairs, too.
