Nick Foles’ dirty block negates DeSean Jackson touchdown (GIF)

Nick-Foles-blockQuarterbacks are very rarely fined in the NFL, but Nick Foles will likely earn himself one this week for a dirty block he threw against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Foles negated a Philadelphia Eagles touchdown when he was called for a crack-back block on Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson.

Coaches often tell quarterbacks not to throw blocks because they could hurt themselves. The block Foles threw is the type that can end a defender’s season. Henderson had no chance of catching the speedy DeSean Jackson, who sprinted into the end zone.

If it’s a dirty play when Ndamukong Suh does it, it’s a dirty play when Foles does it. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

“If it’s a dirty play when Ndamukong Suh does it, it’s a dirty play when Foles does it.”

Wow – where to begin – Ndamukong does it repeatedly.

Also, Foles is a QB. Ndamukong is a defensive tackle. So I’d give a little leeway to Foles, I’d give Ndamukong the same leeway if he was asked to throw the ball… Still no problem with flag. but that doesn’t change the fact that Ndamukong is a dirty player.
