Rex Ryan after loss: Bill Belichick outcoached me

Rex Ryan talks a big game, but at least he is not too proud to admit when he is wrong.

Ryan’s Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots 40-32 on Sunday, but it wasn’t even that close. At one point the Pats were up 37-13 before Buffalo came back with straight points in the fourth quarter.

After the defeat, the new Bills head coach took the blame for the loss.

“This loss is squarely on one man’s shoulders. It’s on my shoulders,” Ryan told the media. “Yeah we gotta get better as a team, but I have to get better. (Bill) Belichick outcoached me, no question about it. That’s how it ended up. It’s unfortunate. Can’t give up 500 yards and beat anybody.”

Tom Brady went wild in the win as he threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns. Though the Pats mostly passed on the day, they also rushed for 56 yards, including 40 and a score for Dion Lewis. Ryan still played ignorant regarding the Patriots running back.

Rex asked about Dion Lewis: "I still don't know his name." #Patriots

Come on, Rex. You can at least admit when you’re wrong like you were there.

Though Buffalo had a statement win over the Colts in Week 1, this loss shows that the Bills are not a bully yet and they have some holes in a strong defense.
