Richie Incognito to Mike Pouncey after Jonathan Martin left Dolphins: ‘F— that guy’

Richie Incognito DolphinsLast week, we shared with you a number of text messages that had been exchanged between Miami Dolphins offensive linemen Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito. Although we had yet to hear many aspects of the story, it seemed like Incognito and Martin were friendly enough with each other that you could argue Incognito was blindsided by Martin’s accusations. The Ted Wells report has changed most of that.

At one point after Martin left the Dolphins, Incognito reached out to him to say, “I’m here for you” and ask how he was doing. According to the Wells report (page 133), Incognito had the following exchange with fellow offensive lineman Mike Pouncey just hours later.

Incognito: F– Jmart That f—t is never [allowed] back
Pouncey: Bro I said the same thing I can’t even look at him the
same he’s a p—y
Incognito: My agent just asked if we held mandatory strip club
meetings Jmart is f—–g ratting on everyone
Pouncey: Lol wow are you serious he is a f–k boy
Pouncey: He’s not welcome back bro I can’t be around that
f—–g guy
Incognito: F–k that guy if Ur not with [u]s Ur against us
Pouncey: No question bro he’s a coward for snitching
Incognito: Snitches get stitches Blood in blood out F—–g guy
Pouncey: He’s dead to me

In the days following that conversation, Incognito reached out to Martin again and said, “I need you buddy I’m getting killed in the media.”

Simply put, it appears obvious that Incognito went into panic mode when he realized how serious the allegations against him were. He was likely trying to butter Martin up, but it was far too late.
