Trey Griffey signs with Colts
Trey Griffey, son of Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., has found a home in the NFL.
The younger Griffey was not among those selected in the seven rounds of this year’s NFL Draft. However, after its completion, the 23-year-old wide receiver was signed by the Colts as a free agent.
Griffey played collegiate football at Arizona and had 23 receptions for 382 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games last season for the Wildcats. In 2015, he had a 95-yard touchdown catch against rival Arizona State, which came on his father’s birthday. Here it is.
MY GOODNESS. This AMAZING 95-yard catch-and-run for Trey Griffey has @arizonafball within a score on @fs1! https://t.co/AyW6xYyDHn

Last year, Griffey was selected by his father’s former team – the Mariners – during Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft. However, he has decided to pursue a career in football that is now underway. Griffey also received some love from baseball great Mike Piazza on his signing with Indianapolis.
Congrats and Best of Luck to Trey Griffey on signing with the Colts. #Colts
