AJ McCarron spent night with model Margaret Wood, so gossip sites implied he cheated on Katherine Webb

Apparently A.J. McCarron can’t even have a woman stay over at his home to prevent her from driving drunk without gossip sites suggesting that he is cheating on girlfriend Katherine Webb.

Radar Online reported on Monday that model Margaret Wood hung out with the Alabama quarterback over the weekend. She was flying from LA to Memphis and had a stopover in Birmingham, not too far from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. After her connecting flight to Memphis was cancelled, she and her friends went drinking, and McCarron apparently went to meet them. The group went back to McCarron’s afterwards.

“We were hanging out at his house, and I had been drinking, so he didn’t want me to drive,” Wood told Radar Online. “I did not stay at a hotel. That’s all I can say. I’m trying to be careful about what I say because I feel really bad.”

Wood says she met McCarron last fall, before he even got involved with Webb.

“He asked for my number back in the fall when I was on the sidelines at the Ole Miss-Alabama game,” Wood told Radar Online. “I didn’t even know who he was. I had no idea he was even talking to Katherine. I thought he was cute.”

Even after getting together with Webb, McCarron apparently was still trying to make plans with Wood.

“I was making plans to go see him, and then I saw on ESPN about Katherine. I was like, whatever, thanks for telling me,” Margaret says. “But it’s not like he had to tell me, I guess, since it wasn’t serious like that. I’ve kissed AJ, but it’s not a big deal.”

Wood says the incident from the weekend is no big deal and she would even offer to speak with Webb to clear things up if necessary.

“AJ and I are just friends. People are blowing this out of proportion. One, I’m not a porn model. Two, it’s just stupid. Why do people care. He should be able to do what he wants to do with friends. I should be able to do what I want to do. I feel bad for him.”

Even though Wood says the two are just friends and that she would tell Webb not to worry, outlets like the Daily Mail ran the story, saying McCarron “might have some explaining to do.” Even Radar Online implied something happened by saying, “Some guys are just never satisfied, it appears,” and that McCarron and Webb might not be together for much longer as a result of the story.

A tweet from Wood discussed the “temptations” in Tuscaloosa, but could actual prove that nothing happened between her and McCarron:

Wood may have sent the tabloids on her trail by sharing a picture on Instagram of her with McCarron. Her caption for the photo was, “I’m about that Roll Tide life… Sometimes. #LoveThisKid #MrMcCarron”

Again, absolutely none of this shows or proves that anything went down between Wood and McCarron.
