Snowboarder Mark McMorris sends perfect tweet about bronze medal
Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris underwent quite the journey over the last eleven months, and now he can finally take some time to reflect on just how far he has come.
McMorris, who had a near-death incident in March 2017 when he crashed into a tree while backcountry snowboarding in his native country, claimed the bronze medal on Sunday in the men’s slopestyle event at the PyeongChang Games. After his win, McMorris posted this perfect tweet in reaction.

The 24-year-old McMorris, who also won bronze at the Sochi Games in 2014, suffered a broken jaw, a ruptured spleen, a stable pelvic fracture, a broken left arm, rib fractures, and a collapsed left lung in the crash, per a feature on the incident by CBC. But in the less than a year since, he has now rallied for his second career Olympic medal, and this one probably feels a whole lot sweeter.
