Aaron Brooks breaks tooth diving for loose ball (Video)

Aaron Brooks had some crazy stats during the Sacramento Kings’ season-opening game on Wednesday. Brooks had 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 broken tooth.

The backup guard broke one of his teeth diving for a loose ball while guarding Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich. As Brooks was going for the ball, Hinrich landed on top of him, planting his face straight into the floor at the United Center in Chicago.

It was a nice effort from Brooks, who played 23 minutes in his first NBA action in two seasons after spending last season in China. His Kings came up short though, losing to the Bulls 93-87.

I suppose the good news is at least he didn’t lose his teeth in another player’s elbow, which actually has happened in past NBA seasons.

Who Wore the Red Jacket and Bowtie Better? Aaron Brooks or Kenny Smith?

Rockets guard Aaron Brooks sported the valet look following Sunday’s game against the Lakers. Brooks claims he was tricked into wearing it by one of his teammates who said that it was the mandatory attire for the day. Brooks on his own decided to go all-out by adding the bowtie. Then he went out and had a career-high 34 points against the Lakers and had to meet the national media wearing that ridiculous outfit. A few nights later, it was Kenny Smith on TNT’s Inside the NBA sporting the look. I’d have to give the nod to Brooks since his bowtie was a matching shade of red. “A” for effort to Kenny though.

Thanks to The Sports Hernia for the Brooks photo.
