Some people say the physical drills that players go through at the NFL combine are overrated and overblown, and for the most part I tend to agree with that. Running a 40-yard dash and bench pressing are an excellent indicator of the type of athlete someone is, but that is not enough to make them a good football player. Every so often, however, someone like Presbyterian defensive back Justin Bethel busts out a freakish vertical leap that simply can’t be ignored.
As you can see from the video above that The Post Game passed along, Bethel is capable of jumping about 60 inches into the air onto a stack of boxes. He “only” managed a vertical leap of 39.5 inches at the combine, but perhaps he is capable of more.
