Brian Wilson has black and red nail polish on his fingers (Picture)

San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson is out for the season after having Tommy John surgery in April, but that doesn’t mean the Giants are free from his eccentric clubhouse ways.

Wilson was shown on TBS during Game 2 of the NLDS between the Giants and Reds and he was seen wearing red nail polish with black stripes down his fingernails. Wilson also seems to have added some tattoos to his left arm, giving him more of a sleeve look.

The Brian Wilson story doesn’t end there. He was photographed riding a motorized scooter nearby the Broadway Tunnel in San Francisco on Sunday, looking zany as ever in his tank top, pajama pants, and captain’s hat:

Dwyane Wade shows off black painted toenails, says it’s ‘RockStar ish’ (Picture)

Dwyane Wade is not shy about the fact that he paints his toenails. He probably should be, but he’s not. Last year, he talked about his weird fashion hobby and said it is something he enjoys and he doesn’t care about fitting in.

As you can see from the photo above, D-Wade shared a picture of his black toenails on Twitter Sunday night and bragged about it.

“Matte black paint…” he wrote. “RockStar ish..”

Rockstar-ish? In a Steven Tyler/Ozzy Osbourne/Kiss type of way I guess he’s right. Wade is probably feeling better than ever about his black toenails now after winning his second NBA championship. Still, I wouldn’t be going around bragging about it. But hey, that’s just me.

Dwyane Wade Paints His Toenails Black. No, Not Once – Always.

Anyone who follows sports closely knows that athletes do some weird stuff. In a certain sense, they are their own breed of people. Professional athletes are superstitious and needy. Many of them do creepy things that they think will help with their game and don’t care what people think about it.  Whether it means shaving all your body hair or wearing a thong to snap a stretch of poor play, we have seen it all.  Dwyane Wade can now be added to the list of weirdness.

In fact, D-Wade’s little secret is patricularly strange because it seems like more of a hobby than a superstition.  Check out this snippet from Wade’s recent interview with GQ Magazine that I Am a GM passed along.

“Three years ago I was like, ‘Man, I kind of want to paint my toenails black,’ ” Wade tells me. We’re on-set at a Manhattan photo studio right now his feet are covered by striped Paul Smith socks and size 14 Jordans. “At first I thought, ‘Nah, I can’t do that. They’re going to kill me.’ But eventually I decided to try it.” He went to Miami’s Mondrian hotel and asked a shocked pedicurist to give him the Marilyn Manson treatment. “Later I was on vacation in the Bahamas with LeBron,” Wade says, laughing, “and when he saw my toes he was like, ‘Something is seriously wrong with you.’ But eventually Bron was like, ‘You know what? You’re crazy, but that’s just you.’ When I first got into the league, I tried to fit in. Now I don’t care.”

So D-Wade just enjoys having his toenails painted.  Whatever floats your boat I guess.  On a side not, I wonder if it was just him and LeBron on that vacation to the Bahamas and no other family members or friends.  If so, things just got even weirder.

Joel Hanrahan Paints Toe Nails in Pittsburgh Pirates Colors (Pictures)

Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan has been one of the best relievers in baseball this year. He also has an inordinate amount of Pirates pride, and he doesn’t mind showing it off, even if it means getting his toes painted as he did Wednesday:

Hanrahan says he was on a double date with his wife and the Resops (Chris Resop is another reliever on the Pirates), and their first stop was to a nail shop for manicures and pedicures. He then tweeted out those photos which we saw at Busted Coverage. The right foot obviously is in Pirates colors but he told Fan Phooey that the left is purple and pink to support prostate and breast cancer awareness. I’d rag on Hanrahan a little more if a) he weren’t pitching lights out this year and b) if we hadn’t already seen this by two other prominent athletes.

Russell Martin Paints His Nails Yellow (Picture)

For some reason I woke up today thinking someone’s man card was getting revoked. The weather sucks out here on the East Coast and I’ve been in a bad mood that needs to be taken out on someone, so it just seemed right.  Luckily we had SI Hot Clicks to point us in the direction of our punching bag: Russell Martin.

We all know catchers paint their nails sometimes so the pitchers can see their fingers more clearly during night games.  That’s fine, but do they really have to celebrate it?  Apparently Martin does.  Not only that, but does it have to be yellow?  What’s wrong with white?  Since we sharted on Ray Allen when his toes were painted green, we have to give Muscles Martin our due diligence. Check out the Russell Martin painted nails picture, which he proudly posted on his Twitter account Monday afternoon.

The only thing that would make that manicure better is if Pau Gasol’s man purse was accompanying it.  May I ask what’s wrong with putting white tape rings around your fingers instead of painting your nails?  Nothing, Steve — that’s what your answer should be.

Ray Allen Wore Green Nail Polish on Toes

This is the type of story that you have to see to believe. After all, I’m the person that still can’t get used to the idea of 250 pound tough guys in the NFL getting pedicures. I’m sure Ray Allen will just tell us that his kids were messing around with him (assuming he as any), but that’s still crossing a line to me. Here’s a picture of Ray Allen wearing green nail polish on his toes prior to Game 4 via NBA.com and The Big Lead:

Ordinarily I’d say that a guy who sets a Finals record with eight three-pointers made in a game can do whatever the heck he wants, but this takes Jesus down a tiny notch in my book.
