Sarah Palin sides with Mike Ditka in Redskins name debate

Sarah Palin Mike Ditka

Sarah Palin has weighed in on the Washington Redskins nickname debate, and unsurprisingly the former Alaska governor and vice president nominee sides with Mike Ditka in believing the nickname should stay.

Palin shared her thoughts on the nickname after being inspired by political commentator Rush Limbaugh, who predicted that Ditka could be fired by ESPN for voicing his support of the nickname. Palin expressed disappointment with the notion that Ditka could be fired and went on to defend the Redskins name.

[Previously: Mike Ditka bashes liberals, thinks Redskins name debate is stupid]

Here’s what she wrote on her Facebook page Friday:

Nothing should surprise us lately; but when the Politically Correct Police bust Ditka, they hope the silent majority will cower under leftist control. My goodness, Ditka merely spoke his mind. This accomplished and esteemed coach knows there are big issues to be addressed in America today; there’s no intent to offend by referring to a team by the name they’ve proudly worn since day one and chose with pride in our native ancestry and obviously had absolutely no intent to insult; and the liberal media’s made-up controversies divide our country. The government’s intent to force any owner of anything, in this case an NFL entity, to change a name is the antithesis of the American way of working through differences. Ditka said he actually likes the Washington Redskins, and he’s a man full of commonsense and admired patriotism. Still, I must disagree with Coach Ditka after reading his full statement:

“What’s all the stink over the Redskin name?” Ditka said. “It’s so much [expletive], it’s incredible. We’re going to let the liberals of the world run this world. It was said out of reverence, out of pride to the American Indian. Even though it was called a Redskin, what are you going to call them, a Proudskin? This is so stupid it’s appalling, and I hope that owner keeps fighting for it and never changes it, because the Redskins are part of an American football history, and it should never be anything but the Washington Redskins. That’s the way it is. It’s been the name of the team since the beginning of football. It has nothing to do with something that happened lately, or something that somebody dreamed up. This was the name, period. Leave it alone. These people are silly — asinine, actually, in my opinion.”

He thinks the name should always be Washington Redskins, as a source of pride? Take the word “Washington” out and I’ll agree the team name is a great source of pride.

Yes, that’s Sarah Palin saying “Washington” is the most offensive part of the Washington Redskins name. Wait til the liberal media gets a hold of that one!

For what it’s worth, Ditka later said he could understand changing the name if American Indians found it offensive, but that they shouldn’t change it just because liberals declared it offensive. No word on Ditka’s opinion if he found out some were lobbying for the change on behalf of American Indians who told them the name was offensive.

Charles Barkley Has a Crush on Sarah Palin, So Glen Rice is Now his Hero

Charles Barkley freely admits that he has a crush on Sarah Palin. You may recall this January video of Barkley asking for Tracy Morgan’s opinion of Palin, to which the comedian replied “she’s great masturbation material.” That came up because Barkley was trying to convince fellow TNT analyst Kenny Smith that Palin was hot.

Well Barkley joined the Waddle and Silvy show on Thursday and one of the topics that came up was Glen Rice and Sarah Palin. Barkley could not contain his excitement.

“You know, I have a thing for Sarah Palin,” Barkley stated shamelessly. “I think she’s hot. I wouldn’t vote for her, but she is hot. I’ve always said I’ve got a crush on Sarah Palin.

“When I read that [story] … Glen Rice is my new hero. He’s my new hero. If that story is true, more power to Glen Rice.”

Mike Tyson Doesn’t Think Glen Rice Banged Sarah Palin Hard Enough

Just when you thought all aspects of the Sarah Palin-Glen Rice love story had been explored, we forget that Mike Tyson had yet to weigh in. Iron Mike did just that as a guest on Gridlock KWWN Espn Radio 1100/98.9FM with Paul Howard, Mitch Moss, and Seat Williams Thursday.

Audio from the interview is posted below, as well as Tyson’s best comments. We typically keep things fairly PG-13 here at LBS, but this interview definitely would earn us an R-rating at the least. Mike Tyson appeared to be living out his own sexual fantasies envisioning Glen Rice and Sarah Palin together. This dude was getting really excited.

Glen Rice and Sarah Palin Reportedly Had One-Night Stand

This is a story so wacky, so unbelievable, so incredible, and so improbable, that it can only be true. Author Joe McGinniss has a book about Sarah Palin coming out called The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin. The National Enqurirer passes on one of the juicier details from the book. Ready for this one? They say Sarah Palin once had a one-night stand with former NBA and Michigan hoops star Glen Rice in 1987. From the National Enquirer:

Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.

A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”

The magazine adds that Palin got married to her husband nine months later, and that he was very much in the picture at the time of the one-nighter. They also say Rice confirms the one-night stand in the book.

Tracy Morgan Sarah Palin Video – ‘Great Masturbation Material’

During the pregame show for the New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat game on TNT Thursday night, Charles Barkley and the gang were joined by actor and comedian Tracy Morgan.  Personally, I don’t think this guy is funny.  I’ve seen his work a few times on 30 Rock and I’m always annoyed.  Something about a guy who makes money playing dumb just gets under my skin.

However, anyone that makes crude comments on the air that make everyone uncomfortable is okay in my book.  When we think of things that shouldn’t have been said or done on the air on TNT, we immediately think of Barkley.  This time it was Morgan providing the awkwardness when he called Sarah Palin “good masturbation material.”  Have a look at the video:

I love how Morgan reiterated it just in case we didn’t hear him clearly the first time.  Congratulations, Chuck — you’re off the hook for once.

Video of Vice President Nominee Sarah Palin Delivering Sportscast as Sarah Heath in Alaska

Major props to Rick at Deadspin for uncovering and sharing a sportscast delivered by Republican Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, back when she was an anchor in Alaska, under the name Sarah Heath. Check out the video:

No surprise, merely hours after its posting it’s already the top story on Ballhype. I mean, what’s not to like about her for sports fans? She studied journalism, was a sports anchor and beauty queen, and she loves guns. She’s a total man’s woman.
