Manu Ginobli: Photo of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker aiming gun at Joey Crawford just a joke

Tim Duncan and Tony Parker decided to have a little too much fun at a Halloween party this year, and now they are hearing about it from all angles. As you can see from the photo above that was posted on Reddit and quickly made the internet rounds, Parker and Duncan dressed up as characters from “The Avengers” and held fake guns to the head of a person dressed as NBA officiating veteran Joey Crawford.

Many people thought the bit was violent and in poor taste. Parker and Duncan were not made available for comment on Monday, but teammate Manu Ginobili didn’t think the costumes were a big deal.

Manu Ginobili says Argentina should yell in Tony Parker’s face to fog up his goggles

Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are accustomed to winning basketball games together, but on Tuesday only one of them will be victorious when France takes on Argentina at the Olympics. Such is the joy of Olympic basketball. Argentina’s Ginobili and France’s Parker will likely find themselves guarding one another in London, and Ginobili says he already has a strategy in mind.

Parker, who suffered an eye injury after the NBA season ended during a nightclub brawl involving rappers Chris Brown and Drake, has been wearing protective goggles during play. According to Spurs Nation, Manu is planning to use that to his advantage.

“Go right up to him and go ‘whooo!’” Ginobili said while demonstrating how he would blow air out of his mouth. “That should fog up his goggles.”

Sounds like a simple strategy that just might work. Unfortunately for France, Ginobili may not even need gimmicks to keep Parker at bay. The Spurs star was 4-for-11 shooting with four turnovers during France’s loss to the USA over the weekend, and he admitted that the month he had to take off of basketball after the eye injury has left him “totally out of shape.”

Having seen how much zip Ginobili is capable of putting on a pass, I’d be worried about not being able to see basketballs that are flying my way at close to the speed of light if I was Parker.

Tony Parker reportedly suing nightclub for $20 million after being injured in Chris Brown, Drake melee

After injuring his eye in the crossfire of glass bottles from the much-discussed scrap between the entourages of Chris Brown and Drake last week, Tony Parker is taking legal action against the New York City nightclub where it all took place. And he is hoping to see massive dollar signs come his way (well, maybe with only one of his eyes for now). From the New York Daily News:

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is suing a New York City club and its operators for $20 million over a scratched retina he says he suffered during a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage.

The suit was filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Thursday. It says the W.i.P club in SoHo and its operators were negligent in security and supervision, which allowed the fight to take place.

Parker was a bystander in the club when the fight broke out and reportedly had glass debris from bottles broken during the tussle end up in his eye. He was recently seen at a press conference in France wearing sunglasses to mask his injury.

According to reports, the brawl was over Rihanna, whom both entertainers — either notoriously and not-so-notoriously — have been romantically linked to at one point. While Parker is saying W.i.P was negligent, we don’t see how it’s the club’s fault that Rihanna is allegedly such a floozy.

Tony Parker’s eye reportedly injured during fight between Chris Brown and Drake

Spurs point guard Tony Parker reportedly suffered an eye injury when a fight between music artists Chris Brown and Drake broke out at a club.

According to the New York Post, the fight at Club W.i.P in SoHO was over Rihanna — who has dated both men. Brown reportedly sent a bottle of champagne over to Drake’s table, and Drake sent a note back.

“I am f**king the love of your life,” the note reportedly said.

Drake and his crew then went over to Brown’s table to sort matters out, and that’s when a punch was thrown, leading to the brawl.

Parker reportedly was at the club at the same time and got some shards of glass (from broken bottles) in his eye, and it reportedly touched his cornea.

A French news report says Parker showed up to a press conference with sunglasses on, saying he couldn’t play for seven days because of the eye injury.

Below is a video via the NY Post that shows pictures from the brawl:

Spurs reportedly were shopping Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili last offseason

The Spurs are just two wins away from their fifth trip to the NBA Finals, but this almost wasn’t this case, as the team reportedly considered making big moves last summer that would have altered the franchise’s future. Acccording to the New York Post’s Peter Vecsey, Spurs brass was willing to part ways with stars Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in an effort to get younger and healthier:

Spurs management called around the league to let the right people know that every player was touchable, exempting Tim Duncan. Owner Peter Holt, team president/coach Gregg Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford were committed to honor Duncan’s reign of scandal-drama-free excellence (four titles) over 14 seasons until he decided not to play for pay anymore.

Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, I must reemphasize, were available for the appropriate equity.

Well, then.

This is obviously striking because Parker and Ginobili are two of the biggest reasons why San Antonio, just coming off a 20-game win streak, is the favorite for many to win it all this season. But apparently the Spurs, frustrated by a hugely disappointing first-round exit last season, felt they needed to consider all options. Looking back, no Parker or Ginobili likely means no 20 straight wins, no best record in the league and no shot at the title.

Luckily, the Spurs didn’t have the onions to pull the trigger on any deals. Not so delighted are the Thunder, Heat and Celtics.

Fan gets Tony Parker portrait shaved into his head (Picture)

It’s starting to look like the days of shaving a team logo or a player’s name into your head are over with. The new haircut craze is straight up artwork. If you’re going to pay tribute to Tony Parker using your head, you might as well do it up big. Go portrait or go home. As you can see from the video above that Black Sports Online shared with us, a fan recently got a detailed portrait of Parker — which seems to imply that he should be the league’s MVP — shaved into his head by a barber who goes by the name Rob the Original.

This haircut is a bit more straightforward than the Picasso-looking one that young soccer fan got a few months back, but it’s just as impressive. Apparently haircuts are now like cars — they just don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Boras Diaw has been sleeping on Tony Parker’s couch since signing with Spurs

Life as an NBA player requires adjusting on the fly — not only on the court, but off of it as well. One minute you could be playing in Charlotte and the next thing you know you’re halfway across the country in San Antonio. Just ask Boris Diaw, who was released by the Bobcats and signed by the Spurs last Friday. Having played four games in five days since joining the team, Diaw hasn’t had any time to look for a place. Fortunately, he has been able to bunk up with his good buddy Tony Parker.

“I’m sleeping on Tony’s couch for the moment. Like Jeremy Lin!” Diaw said with a laugh during an interview with RMC Sport. “We made a deal: I can sleep at his house but I have to pay for all of our meals.”

Depending on how much Tony eats, that seems like a pretty fair trade-off for now. The thing is, however, that Amar’e Stoudemire has labeled Diaw as one of the two smelliest players in the NBA, along with Ronny Turiaf. At least Lin was sleeping on his own brother’s couch and there are no rumors about him being a stinker. Hopefully for the sake of Parker’s furniture, Amar’e is wrong about Boris’ hygiene.
