AJ Burnett has epic struggle to spell Pedro Alvarez’s name
A.J. Burnett made an effort to stand up for teammate Pedro Alvarez on Monday, but he ended up in an embarrassing situation instead.
The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher was stunned and disappointed to learn that Alvarez, who is third in the NL with 22 home runs this season, was not chosen by David Wright to represent the NL in the Home Run Derby. Burnett expressed disgust with the omission, but he misspelled Alvarez’s last name in the process. Multiple times.
Will somebody explain to me how the hell Pedro Alveras is not in the Homerun Derby? Does the National League not wanna win? #ElToro

Not to worry, Burnett noticed his error and set out to correct it:
My bad. Haha. Alveras! #autocorrectsucks

Wait, didn’t he just misspell it again? That’s OK, third time’s a charm …
Ok,.. Here we go,…Alveraz! #cleanitup34

Finally, he just gave up.
I quit! ………EL TORO!

From exploding rosin bags to misspellings, it’s been a rough couple of days for Burnett.
