Atlanta Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski thought he could trick the home plate umpire into thinking he was calling a game of cricket on Monday night, but it didn’t work.
During the eighth inning of Atlanta’s 9-8 extra-innings win over the San Francisco Giants, Pierzynski tried to frame a pitch from David Aardsma that bounced several feet in front of the plate. Shockingly, veteran umpire Dan Iassogna was not fooled.

Pierzynski would later hit a game-tying two-run homer in the ninth, so he didn’t fail at everything. You have to wonder if A.J. would have gotten the call if he didn’t have a reputation for being such a dink.
