Alcides Escobar made a ridiculous no-look catch on Wednesday that really showed off his glove and defensive instincts.
Ryan Hanigan was up with one on and nobody out in the top of the second of a 0-0 game between the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays, and he hit a popup to shallow left center. Escobar saw the ball off the bat and tracked it going back to the outfield grass. He looked over his shoulder to see where it was, then continued going and made the catch just by looking up.
Escobar bobbled the ball but was able to hang on for the grab, which really showed his concentration.
According to Fangraphs, Escobar has received pretty strong scores for his range ratings during his brief career.
