Alex Bregman zings Twitter users after huge grand slam

Alex Bregman

Alex Bregman broke out of a postseason slump in about the biggest way possible.

Bregman blew open Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday night with a grand slam to put Houston up 8-1 in the 7th inning against the Washington Nationals. He pimped his grand slam with gusto:

Prior to Game 4, Bregman had been 1-for-13 in the World Series with a 2-run home run. Then he went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs in Game 4. While he was slumping, he got tons of feedback via Twitter. He decided to zing those Twitter coaches during a postgame interview Saturday night.

“I’d like to thank all the people on Twitter. They’re my hitting coach — I got about 500 million tweets the last few days, so I appreciate that,” Bregman said.

Bregman’s grand slam was the second in Astros postseason history and first by a third baseman in the World Series since 1964.

Bregman also has been homering off nothing but the best pitchers in baseball during the postseason.

This is exactly what the Astros needed, and it came at the right time.
