Alex Cobb reportedly nearing deal with Orioles
Pitcher Alex Cobb is arguably the best remaining free agent on the market, and it sounds like he may have a home soon.
Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday that Cobb may be nearing a deal. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal says Cobb and the Orioles are close to a 3-year deal worth in the neighborhood of $50 million.
Sources: #Orioles close to agreement with free-agent RHP Alex Cobb. Expected to be at least three years. Sides had been talking about deal in range of three years, $50M. Possibility of deal first mentioned by @JeffPassan.

Cobb may have waited this long to sign because he was seeking a multi-year deal rather than a one-year deal like so many of his colleagues have taken.
The 30-year-old is 48-35 with a 3.51 ERA in 700 career innings, all with Tampa Bay. He made $4.2 million last season.
