Alex Gordon slams into wall on catch robbing JJ Hardy (Video)
The Kansas City Royals continue to make almost every single play in the field, regardless of how improbably they may seem. And it’s these kinds of miracle plays that make them appear to be a team of destiny in the MLB playoffs.
Orioles shortstop JJ Hardy led off the top of the 5th inning of Game 4 of the ALCS in Kansas City with a deep drive to left field. Alex Gordon went back on the ball, leaped for a great catch, and slammed into the wall at full speed.
The impact of the collision sent Gordon to the ground, but he held up his glove to show the umpires he had made the catch:
Gordon received tremendous praise from the fans, announcers and his teammates, including pitcher Jason Vargas, who tipped his cap to Gordon for saving his bacon with the great play.
