Alex Gordon made a truly spectacular catch to rob Justin Upton of extra bases on Thursday, and he received a tip of the cap from his entire team as a sign of recognition for the incredible play.
Upton led off the top of the fourth for the Detroit Tigers with a drive to left center that looked like a double in the making. But Gordon made his way from left field to the gap and made a beautiful diving catch in front of the wall to rob Upton.

Pitcher Edinson Volquez raised his cap to Gordon for the great play, as did all the Kansas City Royals. The fans appreciated the great play and got on their feet for a standing ovation.
