In the electric aftermath of the Seattle Mariners’ gritty ALDS triumph over the Detroit Tigers, former New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez delivered a sobering message to another of his former teams.

During a lively FOX Sports panel alongside David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, and host Kevin Burkhardt, A-Rod pulled no punches: The Mariners must sharpen their offensive edge or risk an early vacation.

“I’ve been there,” Rodriguez said, his voice laced with the wisdom of 22 big-league seasons.

Highlighting the pressure of playoff baseball, he noted the shift to a best-of-seven ALCS against the surging Toronto Blue Jays.

“What makes it even more pressured is anytime you have a three- or five-game series cap. And now they have seven games,” he said.

A-Rod zeroed in on Seattle’s Achilles’ heel — fundamental lapses. Despite their pitching wizardry silencing Detroit, the Mariners stranded runners repeatedly, failing to advance them from scoring position.

“Make sure you’re going to play better fundamental baseball,” he urged. “Execute fundamentals, move runners over. The truth is, this could have ended six innings ago.”

With the Blue Jays’ lineup boasting firepower from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and others, Rodriguez warned that such miscues could spell doom.

“If that happens against the Blue Jays, then we’ll be going home. We’re going to Cancun,” he said.

The panel erupted in laughter at the quip, but the message lingered: For the Mariners, ALCS survival hinges on small-ball mastery amid the October chill. As Seattle fans dream of a drought-ending World Series run, A-Rod’s cautionary tale echoes loud — playoff glory demands precision, not just heart.
