Light-hitting Detroit Tigers utility man Andrew Romine hit a rather stunning grand slam on Wednesday to lead his team to a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins, but he was in for a surprise after the game.
Fittingly, Romine was randomly drug tested after his big performance, which he admitted to the media afterward.
“Immediately when I walked in, it was, you got a drug test,” Romine told reporters after the game, via Fox 2 Detroit. “Little light-headed. We took blood.”
It was a random drug test, or so we’re led to believe. It’s a pretty great coincidence, and it does happen in other sports as well. Romine had one of the more memorable days of his MLB career, plus this funny story to go along with it.
