The Los Angeles Angels are reportedly looking to add some pitching in addition to their big offensive addition.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Angels are “cautiously optimistic” in trade talks centered around Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber.
Interesting competition for #Indians’ Kluber, sources tell The Athletic. #Angels cautiously optimistic. AL West rival #Rangers in the mix. Other teams also might be involved.

The Angels were in on Gerrit Cole, but were unwilling to outbid the New York Yankees and ultimately signed Anthony Rendon instead. The trade market may be more their speed, and they’d have a hard time doing better than a two-time Cy Young winner in Kluber. However, there is uncertainty here, as Kluber is still recovering after fracturing his pitching arm last May. He hasn’t pitched since.
The Angels are not the only team from California to be making a push for Kluber. It’s a market that appears to be heating up.
