Aroldis Chapman still not sure why he is struggling
Aroldis Chapman hasn’t really gotten the chance to pitch his way back into the closer’s role since losing it, and he’s still struggling to figure out what happened in the first place.
Chapman admitted Friday that he is still not sure why he has struggled so much lately to the point of the team removing him from the closer’s role.
Aroldis Chapman said that he has not identified the problem or made any mechanical adjustments. Said he just has to keep fighting.

Chapman lost the job after giving up seven runs over the span of 4.1 innings in four outings, with the team using him in lower-leverage situations since. He hasn’t allowed a run since, albeit in just 1.2 innings of work.
