Report: Astros interview ex-Giants executive Bobby Evans for GM job
While their search for a manager has gotten more publicity, the Houston Astros need a new general manager, too, and work is being done on that front as well.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Astros interviewed former San Francisco Giants general manager Bobby Evans for the same position within their organization.

Evans was the Giants’ GM from 2015 to 2018. He served as the team’s vice president of baseball operations during their three World Series runs in 2010, 2012, and 2014, but the team declined once he got a promotion.
We have heard little about the Astros’ GM search at this time. They have numerous managerial candidates, and were still conducting interviews as recently as Friday. It’s not clear by which point they intend to make a decision, but they seem to be prioritizing the managerial search right now.
